Ida Heidinger-Hust passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the age of 89 years. She was born at Eagle Butte, Alberta on March 31, 1932 to Andrew and Hertha Klaiber and was the oldest child of four. In 1953, she married Harvey Heidinger and for 29 years together they farmed in the Seven Persons area until Harvey’s death in 1982. In 1983, Ida moved into Medicine Hat, where she continued her love of gardening, became an avid golfer and volunteered for many years as part of the Palliative Care Society at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. She adored her Friday afternoon coffee with the girls and her greatest passion was simply spending time with her grandchildren.
Ida is survived by her daughter Lorna Wityk, grandson Christopher (Carissa) Wityk and great-grandson Bryson, her granddaughter Nicole (Jeff) Bailey and great-granddaughters Charlotte and Natalie. She is also survived by her brother, John Klaiber and sister, Doreen Munro as well as nieces and nephews. Ida was predeceased by her first husband Harvey Heidinger as well as her second husband Edward Hust. She was also predeceased by her sister Eileen Frank, son-in-law Nick Wityk and nephews Trevor Munro and Neil Klaiber. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Masks are mandatory. A private family graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 with Rev. Robert Findley officiating.
