Herb Dawson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Herbert Edward ‘Herb’ Dawson announce his passing in Medicine Hat on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 83 years. Along with Delores, Herb’s memory will be cherished by his children, Shelley Eder and Neil Dawson; step-children, Curtis Kramer and Lana MacGhee as well as their families. Herb was a man who truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved camping under the stars and casting a line while fishing with his beloved wife, Delores. Their companionship was a testament to their love, having just celebrated 44 wonderful years of marriage. Herb loved animals of all kinds and had a deep affection for his dogs over the years, treating each one as a true member of the family. Known for his quick wit and friendly demeanor, Herb was a true people person, always ready with a story or a joke. He could talk to anyone, and his genuine way with people made him unforgettable. Herb’s years working with Reidy Ford, Mazda, Gardner Motors, Saamis Moving and Storage and Bruce’s RV allowed him to connect with countless friends and colleagues, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went. Herb’s love for life extended to the little things too—peanuts, Jube Jubes and a trip to Pick-a-Pop with the kids always brought a smile to his face. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and warmth, reminding all who knew him to embrace life with a smile, just as he did. In honour of Herb’s wishes, his life will be honoured and his memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral.
