Gori Maya Rai passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the age of 83 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sanchu Maya Rai, Purna Rai and Tika Maya Rai; daughter-in-law, Kaushila Rai; grandson, Ujwal Rai and and her husband, Prithi Man Rai. She was predeceased by her daughter, Tirtha Maya Rai and her parents, Hang Bir Rai and Harka Maya Rai. The funeral service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed.
