Glen Alfred Koutsky of Medicine Hat Alberta passed away Wednesday June 23, 2021 at the age of 74 years. Glen is survived by his wife Elaine, his sons Jeremy (Kaitlyn) and Matthew (Alexis), and grandson Holden. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Richard, his cousin Francis, three half siblings Terry (Rod), Patty (Mel), and Frank (Peggy) and many nieces and nephews. Glen Alfred Koutsky was born June 15, 1947 in Hillcrest Alberta, the first of two children to Joseph and Hilda Koutsky. He was predeceased by his father Joseph, his mother Hilda and his sister Linda (Mastel). Glen spent much of his childhood in Hillcrest, later ending up in Prelate Saskatchewan after the passing of his father Joseph. It was in Prelate that he met the love of his life Elaine at his sister Linda’s wedding. Glen and Elaine got married in Medicine Hat in June 1977. They built a house and welcomed their sons, Jeremy in early 1980 and Matthew in late 1981. Glen is well known for his long distinguished career as a long haul truck driver, driving all over Canada. He started his driving career as an ambulance driver in Northern Alberta. Upon retiring from truck driving, he took up building maintenance at several local manufacturing facilities, later working for Grandview Village alongside Elaine, a job that he greatly enjoyed for several years. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant Pat Grisonich. Family and friends are invited to remotely attend the funeral service. Search for the Pattison Funeral Home youtube page where the video feed will go live 10 minutes prior to service time.
