Gerhard Ernst Friederich Bubbel passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the age of 87 years, beloved husband of Erika Bubbel of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Elizabeth Chute (Brian Yanciw) of Empress, Monika Sulz of Medicine Hat, Susan (Rod) Wilk of Medicine Hat, Gerhard Bubbel of Lloydminster; Erika’s children, Heika (Scott) Cunningham of Lacombe and Lars (Nick Hu) Mathiesen of Taipei; eleven grandchildren, Erin Clyde, Steven (Brianna) Chute, Andy (Aleea) Chute, Tim Sulz (Darbie Dechaine), Jeanine Wilk, Brady Wilk (Julie Pham), Gerhard Bubbel, Nicholas (Nikko) Bubbel, Kyla Cunningham, Matthew Cunningham and Teagan Cunningham; three great grandchildren, Dakota Clyde, Tula Clyde and Bradon Dechaine. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Hildegard Bubbel; his first wife, Greta, and one grandson Thomas Sulz. Thank you to the nurses and staff at Sunnyside Nursing Home, Home Care, and to the doctors and nurses at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Emergency Department and Five East. As per Gerhard’s request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Margery E.
