Gerald Joseph Cadrain
1933 – 2022
Gerald Joseph Cadrain passed away on January 21st, 2022, at the age of 88 years. Gerald will be lovingly remembered by his special friend, Chris Braun; his children, Marianne, Gilbert (Valerie), Blair (Jackie), Brent (Angie); stepdaughters, Sandy and Debbie. His grandchildren, Cass, Cassandra, Chance, Zachary, Sheldon, Jordan, Devin, Breanna, Kalsie, Kris, Solomon, Connor and Sydney, have many fond memories of their time with grandpa. While he never got to meet his new great grandson, Bodhi, we shared many pictures and videos with him, and his smile would light up the room. He is survived by his two brothers, Armand and Roger.
Gerald was born in Edam, Saskatchewan and raised in Jack Fish, Saskatchewan with 11 siblings and his parents, Agnes and Eudora. Gerald tried his hand at farming and hated it. He travelled to wherever work took him; Ontario, Nordegg, Fort McMurray and eventually settling in Medicine Hat in 1975. He worked in logging camps, as a heavy equipment operator, a business owner of a restaurant/laundromat and hotel management. Gerald loved fishing and gardening most of all. His incredible sense of humor and quick comebacks will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
There will be no funeral service as per Gerald’s wishes. A private family gathering will be held at at later date.
Donations in Gerald’s name may be made to AJ’s Loan Cupboard – Bay 4-602A, Clay Ave SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 3K2.
