George Edward “Kaye” Osgood
April 3rd, 1931 – May 7th, 2024
Kaye Osgood of Redcliff passed away at the age of 93.
He leaves to cherish his memory children Linda (Tom) Otte, Randy (Marlaine) Osgood and Perry (Bonnie) Osgood; grandchildren Morgan (Ashley), Logan (Kaitlyn), James (Fren), Laura (Abbie), Ben (Dayna), Christine, Lisa (Nick) and Wendy (Braedy); great-grandchildren Sloan, Lincoln, Addyson, Hudson, Payton and Audrey; sister Velma Pancoast; special friend of many years Evelyn Yurkiw, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Kaye was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Viola, stepfather Sydney Patterson, brothers Gordon “Buzz” Osgood and Howard “Fat” Osgood, sister Norma Sharpe, sister-in-law Muriel “Murt” Osgood and brothers-in-law Paul Sharpe and Lindsay Pancoast, and great grandson Vincent Rosenke.
Kaye was born and raised in Redcliff, where he worked and lived for 90 years before moving to Chinook Village in Medicine Hat. He worked for ten years with his stepfather at Syd Patterson’s grocery store before beginning a 33-year career at the Dominion Glass factory, where he was also a long-time union representative. His civic involvement included two terms as a Town of Redcliff Councillor and one term as Town Mayor. He also served on the Medicine Hat College Board of Directors, as well as several other Boards and Commissions.
Kaye will be remembered for his strength of character, integrity and unfailing sense of humor. His family could always count on his quiet but unconditional support, and his friends on his constant loyalty. Kaye will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
