Genevieve Myers of Redcliff, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the age of 83 years, beloved wife of the late George Myers . She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Esther (Don) Welfl of Redcliff and son-in-law Warren Felesky; two grandchildren, Tannner and Geena Felesky, all of Medicine Hat; one sister, Esther (Len) Lazzari of Sylvan Lake; three sisters-in-law, Norma Genert of Lethbridge, Irene Genert of Bassano and Loretta “Lolly” Genert of Medicine Hat, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Christof and Margaret Genert; her husband George Myers on December 31, 2003; her son George William Myers on November 9, 1989; her daughter Shirley Felesky on December 20, 2009; brothers, Walter, David, William “Bill”, Jacob “Jack”, Michael “Mike”, Howard and Allan; and sisters, Leah, Lilly, Maida “Deebe”, Christina “ Chrissy”, Mary and Rachel.
Genevieve was born on April 25, 1933 in Medicine Hat to Christof and Margaret Genert. She was the youngest child of a large family which included seven brothers and seven sisters. Gene grew up on the family farm which was located south of Walsh in the Greyburn Gap area. In 1949, she moved with her family to Redcliff where she resided until the time of her passing.
Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Monday, April 17 from 12:00 p.m to 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Interment will follow in the Redcliff Cemetery.
