It is with great sadness that we, the family of Fran (Frances), beloved wife of Clarence (Edward) Schweigert, announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday August 8, 2018, in Medicine Hat at St Joseph’s Hospice at the age of 64 years.
She also leaves to cherish her memory their children, Clay (Aneita) Schweigert and their children Hayden and Logan; Sara (Rob) Orr and their children Addison, Cooper and Brendan; and Leeann Schweigert and her son Bryton; her brothers, Ralph (Bonnie) Weimer and John Weimer. She was predeceased by her father, Michael Weimer, her brothers, Randy and David Weimer in infancy and her sisters, Theresa and Roseanne as well as her in-laws May and Ed Schweigert.
Fran was born on November 22, 1953, to Mike and Betty Weimer in Leader, Saskatchewan. In her early years her family moved to Medicine Hat leaving behind their farming life in the 60’s. Fran met Clarence in Medicine Hat and not long after they were married on September 28, 1974. They started their married life in the trailer park off of 13th Ave and lived there for two years. In 1976, Clay was born while they built their forever home and moved in in January of 1977 to the present day. In August of 1978, they were blessed with the arrival of their first daughter Sara. In September of 1982, they were blessed one more time with their daughter Leeann.
Mom liked to travel and one of her favorite trips was to Branson, Missouri, which took her to Elvis’ Home in Memphis Tennessee, which she had the opportunity to return to two more times. One of her other favorite stops on this trip was the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Her newest passion became her grandkids, which took up most of her time.
We would like to thank the staff of St Joseph’s and Susan Duquette for your help in her final moments which was much appreciated. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Margery E. Yuill Cancer Clinic for all their help and compassion.
The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. David Pollard officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Margery E.
