Florence "Gail" Oulette

Florence “Gail” Oulette passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the age of 77 years, beloved wife of Raymond Oulette of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory three children, Sheryl Sherk and her husband Doug, Laurie Oulette and Brenna Oulette all of Medicine Hat; seven grandchildren, Rachel Vair, Teressa Sherk, Shayla, Grayson and Joel Oulette, Cassandra and Nicholas Oulette; four great grandchildren, Madison Densmore, Lilah, Cadence and Gage Vair; one brother, Leonard (Florence) Arnott of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; two sisters, Anne (Bo) Carlson, Kathy Arnott, all of Prince George, British Columbia as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Florence McDougall and William Arnott; and by her stepfather, Gordon McDougall. Florence was born in Roblin, Manitoba where her family farmed, her parents emigrated from Scotland and England. Her family relocated to Flin Flon, Manitoba where Gail met her husband to be, Raymond Oulette and to this day had 59 years of marriage. Gail relocated to Medicine Hat in 1965, and worked at the Redcliff Glass Factory for 24 years and advanced to foreman of C shift. Gail volunteered as Elder/Treasurer with Sunworks Arts and Cultural Society, and was on the board with M.A.D.D. In her retirement years, she enjoyed playing pool and won a trophy at the Moose Lodge where she also volunteered. Gail’s greatest sense of joy came from spending time with her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, witnessing their accomplishments. Her great grandchildren lit up her home when they came for a visit. Gail was a strong fighter, fighting Parkinson’s disease for 30 years. On her behalf, Gail’s family wish to thank Medicine Hat Home Care, Holy Family Parish, the staff at Medicine Hat Co-op and her beloved husband for caring for her all these years with compassion and support. During her last days on earth Gail would reflect on the comfort the Bible scripture Revelations 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain.” Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:55 a.m.. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in the Holy Family Parish on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Philip Le celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
