1937 – 2023
Fern Eldien McLennan, beloved wife of George McLennan passed away in Medicine Hat on Saturday, July 1, 2023. Fern was born February 10, 1937 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan to Clifford and Mary Packard. She is survived by her children, Wes (Janice) Archer and Colleen (Randy) Brost of Medicine Hat and Pamela (Peter) Gabris of Calgary; numerous grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, John Packard of Vancouver and George’s sister, Ruth (Jim) Ruxton of Edinburgh, Scotland as well as their children. Fern and George lived in Redcliff for 40 years. Fern was very active and enjoyed the Ladies Auxiliary of the Redcliff Royal Canadian Legion where she held many positions including President. For many years she was a dedicated employee at K-Mart and she also had her own business, Giggles and Garb. Fern will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. Interment will follow at the Redcliff Cemetery.
