Eric Stigter
1997 ~ 2019
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Eric Kalen Stigter announce his passing on Sunday, August 18, 2019, in Hardisty, Alberta at the age of 22 years. Eric’s life journey began on May 21, 1997 in Medicine Hat, a son born to proud parents, Barry and Michelle Stigter. He grew up in Redcliff where he made wonderful childhood memories with his family. Eric loved the outdoors and all it had to offer… family camping trips and hikes were some of the most memorable times of his life. Eric had a pure heart and his love for animals – especially cats and dogs, reflected in the way he treated them and would always be seen holding and cuddling his pets. He enjoyed technology and computers, playing video games, cooking and of course eating and munching on bags of candy. His sense of humour was unmatched and his infectious laugh and smile could light up a room. Family was most important to him and he was close with his grandparents and had a very special bond with his uncles, Wayne and Phil. Eric always looked up to his big brother, Ethan and adored his sister, Kate. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Beside his parents, Barry and Michelle, his memory will live on in the hearts of his brother, Ethan, sister, Kate; grandmother, Alice Stigter as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Evline Rabby and Lane Stigter. A Celebration of Eric’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Pahl officiating. Memorial donations in Eric’s name may be made directly to Enviros (Shunda Creek) – please visit: www.enviros.org to donate.
