Emil Leis of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at the age of 90 years, beloved husband of the late Martha Leis. He leaves to cherish his memory three children Rose (Richard) Rusk of Vancouver, Allan (Marilyn) Leis of Medicine Hat, and Daniel (Karma) Leis of Lethbridge, his six grandchildren Andrew (Kate), Emily (Craig), Brendan, Craig, Brock (Kristy), Cody (Dominique) and their daughter Olivia, one sister Herta Link, two brothers Gustav (Joyce) Leis, Adolf (Bonnie) Leis, one sister-in-law Frieda Wahl as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Martha Leis on June 13, 2009; his parents Emilie and Gustav Leis, one brother Dieter Leis, one brother-in-law Waldemar Link, and one sister-in-law Rita Leis. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m and at St. Peter Lutheran Church on Wednesday, from 12:30 – 1:25 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the St. Peter Lutheran Church on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Pastor Shane Hein officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
