Elizabeth Margaret Haystead
November 2, 1934 ~ November 25, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Elizabeth Margaret ‘Betty’ Haystead announce her sudden passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the age of 88 years. Betty was born in Abbey, SK., to proud parents, Basil and Gladys Pigott. She was raised in Piapot, SK., which is also where she married Ken on January 25, 1954. Betty had a strong faith as was evident through her countless hours of volunteering with the Riverside Presbyterian Church ladies. Betty’s greatest joy in life came from time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid fan of watching curling on tv and had a place in her heart for animals of all kinds. Betty’s memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family: son, Barry (Donna) Haystead and daughter, Brenda Kehn; her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Haystead, Heather (Sam) Gust, Jason (Meagan) Kehn and Rachel (Joey) Sabourin as well as eight great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth in 2009; sister, Carole Goodman and son-in-law, Ron Kehn. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so starting one hour prior to the celebration of Betty’s life which will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
