Elila Klose (nee Truderung) passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the age of 90 years. Lily will be lovingly missed by her husband Erwin to whom she was married for 70 years. Also cherishing her memory are her four daughters, Renita (Ian) Graham, Karen (Roger – predeceased) Friesen, Norma (Emil – predeceased) Gutsche, and Marnie (Rick) Burry. Lily was also blessed to have seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, her sister, and two brothers as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Two of her sisters passed away previously.
Lily was a wonderful hostess over the years. She entertained friends and family weekly with delicious roast beef dinners and fancy fruit torten, along with numerous other baked goodies. She enjoyed planting flowers and gardening, knowing the names of many plants and how to care for them, also working at a local greenhouse for several years. Sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery were a passion of our mother. She sewed multiple matching outfits for her brood of girls, and displayed many of her crafted items in her home.
Lily’s dearest treasures were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent countless hours making sure they knew they were loved. Any one of them entering a room would put a smile on her face. She shared her love of Jesus with others, having a great faith in God. Now she has reached her final destination and is in the presence of her Lord and Saviour.
We wish to thank the Wellington and Carmel Hospice at St. Joseph’s Home for making mom’s last few months and days comfortable.
The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Deibert officiating. The service will be live streamed. Those who wish to attend virtually, please visit Elila’s obituary page on our website for the link. A private interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery.
