Edna Anheliger passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the age of 93 years, beloved wife of the late Vince Anheliger. She leaves to cherish her memory five children, Jerry Anheliger, Donna (Brian) Vossler, Morley (Agnes) Anheliger, Randy (Francesca) Anheliger, Harlan (Lori) Anheliger; eight grandchildren, Nolan Vossler, Cory (Krista) Vossler, Curtis (Carrie) Anheliger, Darren (Kacie) Anheliger, Cole Anheliger, Stephanie Anheliger, Sydni Anheliger and Caiden Anheliger; seven great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Braxton Vossler, Payton and Hunter Vossler, Elizabeth and Jason Anheliger, Jackson Anheliger; one sister Martha Durr, numerous nieces and nephews as well as members of Vince’s family. She was predeceased by her parents, Otillia and Henry Kost; her husband Vince on March 4, 2013, as well as ten brothers and sisters. Edna was born on August 26, 1925, at Schuler, Alberta and was raised on the family farm. She moved to Medicine Hat to work at Medalta Pottery and that is where she met Vince. On June 24, 1950, they were married in Medicine Hat. Edna worked at various jobs but spent most of her time raising her family and later helping with her grandchildren. Edna loved to go to garage or auction sales where she could be found with the Snoop Sisters (her two close sisters Ruby and Maggie) confidently bidding away on the items. She loved to bowl and babysit the kids at the bowling alley. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren at their sporting events but… her grandchildren were her life. Her family would like to thank the staff at Good Sam’s for taking care of their mom for the last 10 years. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Monday, from 12 noon to 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
