Doug Was Born in Fort St. John in on the October 29, 1959, he was always a little man from birth able to be held in the palm of his father’s hand He made his way in this world with tremendous optimism and faith in God.
With Doug, we knew he would always be an extra special child from his unbelievable curiosity and to act without any fear – except around water.
Doug or “Dougie” will be remembered by many for his friendly approach, his contagious laugh, his high 5’s and mostly for his desire to do things and enjoy life. He had a flirtatious personality when he was around pretty ladies, he used to give them nice complements, including to the nurses who will take care of him at the hospital, and he was not shy when he wanted to meet a new friend. He would always introduced himself saying: “Hi, I am Doug!”
Doug had a big selection of things that he enjoyed to do like for example, going out for supper every week, especially to McDonalds and his favorite drink was diet Coke. He also had a passion for sci-fi movies and old shows from his younger years. With his friends at Core he would also enjoy going bowling and playing darts few times a month. He had an amazing musical ear and he was able to play the piano just by listening to a specific tune. We enjoyed his music talents and his singing at Christmas time with his rendition of the Drummer boy. Doug also had a cheerful spirit for sports, he liked football, WWF wrestling, he was the biggest fan of the Tigers and at one time the towel boy for the team. Hockey was one of his favorite sports to watch or listen to.
