Dorothy Elizabeth Geddes of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019, at the age of 90 years, beloved wife of the late Michael “Ross” Geddes (June 21, 1996). She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Hugh Geddes, Larry (Anita) Geddes, Diane (Robin) Simpson and Karen (Ross) Lacelle; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Geddes; twelve grandchildren, Ross Geddes (the mother of his children, Eryn Driver), Crystal Geddes (Chad Martin), Sara Reimer (Ryan), Mac Geddes (Ashlee), Christopher Page, Jayson Page, Bradley Simpson (the mother of his child, Tara Verestiuk), Devon Simpson, Taylor Simpson, Blaine Woodcock (Christine McClean), Brandi Warren and Cody Woodcock (Angela); Twenty Great-Grandchildren, Aden Page, RJ Reimer, Matea Warren, Tierney Verestiuk Simpson, Burton Geddes, Emelia McClean Woodcock, Kendyl Geddes-Martin, Tuff Reimer, Ty Geddes, Colten Warren, Jackson Geddes, Abigail McClean Woodcock, Kyler Geddes-Martin, Owen Geddes, Kiera Woodcock, Madison Warren, Emmett Geddes, Maddox Woodcock, Brett Warren, James McClean Woodcock; her sister Lillian Dockrell; her sisters-in-law, June McPherson (Al), Joyce Geddes, Vida Geddes, Fern Wudrich and Betty Wudrich; her brothers-in-law, Richard Geddes and Herb Geddes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents, Carl and Mary Wudrich; her brothers, Andrew (Grace) Wudrich, Walter (Mildred) Wudrich, Rudy (Mary) Wudrich and Gus Wudrich; and her sisters, Alvena (Jack) Kettles and Elsie (Arnie) Butler and brother-in-law Stan Dockrell. Dorothy was born on Feb 3, 1929 in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. At a young age her family moved near Conquerville, Alberta to farm. She then moved to Medicine Hat to attend Garbutt Business School. Shortly after she married Michael Geddes on July 16, 1949. Throughout her life, Dorothy was a keeper. Her career started as a bookkeeper and then she was a keeper of countless kids, but she always did her best to keep everyone on the straight and narrow. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you for the past years of care and compassion by the Sunnyside Nursing Home Staff. The funeral service will be held in the Victory Lutheran Church (2793 Southview Dr SE) on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 1:30 pm with Diaconal Minister Lila deWaal officiating.
