Deborah ‘Debbie’ Lee Arndt, wife of Kevin; mother to Ron Galuschuk and the late Les Galuschuk and grandmother to Gracie sadly passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the age of 67 years. Debbie was born on June 29, 1958, in Flin Flon, Manitoba to parents, Ron and Arlene Thompson. She was raised with her brother, Russ in Channing and the Flin Flon area, graduating from Hapnot Collegiate before starting her working career. Debbie married Rick Galuschuk and had two boys, Ron and Leslie. She worked many years at HBMS as a mill operator and was a union rep for the workers. While residing in Flin Flon, she met a likeable fellow, Kevin Arndt and they were married in 2000. They left Flin Flon in 2002, and came out west to the land of milk and honey; beautiful Medicine Hat. It was here that she owned and operated a hair and tanning salon and did nail artwork. Some of her interests included horseback riding, decorating, antiques and spending time with family and friends (especially her feline friends). She was a strong, independent mother and grandmother who stood up for those that didn’t have a voice. Debbie was predeceased by her son, Leslie; grandson, Garrett; parents, Ron and Arlene; brother, Russ and nephew, Dustin. A Celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Joseph Steeves officiating. The service will be live-streamed.
