1952 ~ David Cunningham ~ 2020
It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Morris Cunningham of Kelvington, Saskatchewan, announce his passing after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the age of 68 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Jodi (Todd) Gramlich and Dave (Gail) Cunningham; five grandchildren, Kaden, Joren and Riley Gramlich, Victoria and Robert Cunningham; four brothers, Darrel (Donna), Rodney (Leona), Randy (Marilyn) and Glen (Karen); two sisters, Linda (Maurice) Patenaude and Elaine (Leo) Patenaude as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his two gopher hunting buddies, Payton and Lincoln and an adopted grandkid, Brynn . He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Alice Cunningham and one sister, Diane Cunningham. Dave was one of the most selfless, kind, hardworking individuals you will ever meet. He wore his heart on his sleeve and always put his family first. As a dad and then a grampa, he supported, cheered and drove many many miles to sit in rinks, gyms, schools and even doctors offices. Jodi and Dave Jr. were his pride and joy until those grandkids came along. Kaden, Joren, Riley, Victoria and Robert won the lottery when it came to having the grampa they did. Everyone that had the privilege of meeting him soon became aware of the gem that he truly was. Grampa’s pride and joy and unending love for these five was unmatchable. Dave was known as grampa Dave to all near and far. His love for horses and gardening has been passed down through many stories and teachings in the garden. The legacy he leaves behind will continue on through all the lives he touched. Grampa was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support that you all showed him during his illness, for this we thank you. Special thanks and love sent to dads personal nurse, Gail. We knew he was in the best hands. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Tim Burghardt officiating. Due to restrictions in place regarding COVID- 19 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health – funeral services are now limited to no more than 100 attendees including family and funeral home staff. Family and Friends are invited to remotely attend any public funeral service at our facility through live streaming on our website. Interment will take place at a later date in Saskatchewan.
