Daryl Velestuk
1953 ~ 2023
It is with a heavy heart that Donna announces the passing of her devoted husband of almost 48 years, Daryl Lynn Velestuk. He passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 70 years. Along with Donna, left to cherish his memory is his son, Timothy and his beautiful grand-daughter, Jori-Lynn. Daryl is also survived by his siblings, Larry (Debbie), Wayne (Kelly) and Cheryl Loiselle; Donna’s siblings, Ernie (Linda) Krell, Lorne (Jenny) Krell, Doreen (Ron) Pengelly, Don (Lois) Krell and Gordon (Gwen) Krell as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Irene Velestuk. Daryl was born and raised in Grenfell, Saskatchewan. For many years, he worked alongside his brothers drywalling in Estevan, later moving to Yorkton where Daryl and Donna owned and operated Nutters for 10 years. In 1996, they moved to Medicine Hat where Daryl worked for D & D Oilifield Rentals for 12 years. He always had a smile on his face… probably because he always had a practical joke stirring. Spending time with family and friends meant the most to Daryl whether it was camping or just visiting. Jori-Lynn was the apple of his eye and if Daryl wasn’t with Donna, he could be found with Jori by his side. He will be missed! A private family service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in the coming days.
