Darryl Jean Barrett ( Finnie) passed away peacefully in her home on January 5, 2019, with her loving family by her side. Darryl fought a courageous battle with Cancer and was full of whit and laughter till the end. Her memory will be cherished by her husband, John Barrett and their children; Warren (Leanne) Schlivert and family Tate and Sloane, Anne Schlivert and family Tess and Gage, Margaret Sheward and family Samantha and Jax, Jennifer Toogood (Jamie Smith) and family Toni, Jacob, James, Riley and Noah, and Tina Barrett (Chris McHale) and one brother Donald Finnie (Valerie) and their children.

Darryl was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Mervin Finnie. She was born on November 27th, 1948, and attended school in Kamsack, Sask. After graduation she completed nursing school and later went on to achieve her Social Work Degree. Supporting foster children and their families in Medicine Hat was her passion. Darryl met the love of her life, John, and they were married in 2001. They were a very active couple who enjoyed extensive travelling, socializing with friends and spending time with their blended families. She will always be remembered for her laughter, love, kindness, and desire for starting projects… “Love you to the moon and back…..”

The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend.
