EDISON, Daniel James
Mr. Daniel James Edison passed away peacefully while surrounded by family in hospital on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the age of 66 years following a period of declining health.Dan was born in St. Thomas, ON., on December 28, 1952, the eldest of six children. He traveled and worked construction, retiring from Carpenter’s Union, Local 2103 (Calgary) in 2014 working from Fort McMurray. Dan lived his life on his own terms and had a great sense of humor. He loved visiting and reminiscing with family and friends. Dan had a great passion for John Deere tractors, loved tractor pulls and rodeo. He was a great two stepper in his day and always wore western attire, top to bottom. He also enjoyed westerns and country music. Dan was predeceased by his father, Harold Edison of St. Thomas, ON. (2011), son Jordan of Medicine Hat (2011) and one nephew, Patrick Durdle of St. Thomas, ON. (2015). Dan leaves to cherish his memory two sons, James Edison (Nicole) and grandsons, Beckett and Brooks of Barrie, ON., and Jesse Edison (Kayla) and his mother, Colleen of Medicine Hat. He is survived by his mother, Jean Edison of St. Thomas, ON., five siblings; one brother, Robert Edison of Scarborough, ON., sisters, Nancy Durdle (Dave) of St. Thomas, ON., Brenda Edison (Rob McLean) of Medicine Hat, Barb Slota (Tim) of St. Thomas, ON., and Lisa Flintoff (Charles) of Elliot Lake, ON. He was a beloved uncle to Chris, Veronica, Carla, Heather and Charles and great-uncle to Alysha and Jacob. The memory of our loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend will forever resonate within our hearts. Family would like to thank ALL of the Home Health Care workers who visited Dan daily, enabling him to stay at home until his passing. Dan wished his life to be remembered without a formal service.
