Dale Lawrence passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the age of 88 years, beloved husband of Vera Lawrence of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Brenda (Darrell) Seitz, Patrick (Gail) Lawrence, Bonnie (Rick) Hanson and Michael (Linda) Lawrence; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Derek Seitz (Marlon, Milica); Dean (Robin) Seitz (Dawson, Danica); Christopher (Krista) Lawrence; Sarah (Dustin) Theberge (Amy, Charlie); Dana (Bridgette) Hanson (Farrah, Vaughn); Tia Hanson; and Christopher and Sarah’s mother Susan Lawrence. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Victor Lawrence, one granddaughter Coralee Lawrence, his brother Bryan and sister Marion. Dad was very proud of his career as a firefighter. His peers always held a special place in his heart. He was a lifelong, avid swimmer and held numerous records throughout his competitive years. He loved hunting, fishing, playing darts and being outdoors. He was proud of his Metis heritage, but what he was most proud of was all of his grandchildren. We will miss his sense of humor, his jokes and his booming laughter. We love you and will miss you dad!
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. John Maes celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Dale with a donation, may do so to the Alzheimer Society, Alberta and Northwest Territories or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
