Daisy May (Bliss) Legere passed away on Friday, October 5th, 2018, at the age of 83 years. Daisy leaves to cherish her memory, her only son, Gustav Beatch, one granddaughter, Andrea Pillman (Scott), and three great grandsons, William, Dustin and Tyson Pillman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Daisy was predeceased by her parents, Dave Morrison and Margaret Bliss, her brother Dempsey Bliss, and her sisters, Dolly Weiss, Jean Chartrand, Pearl Tarnasky, Nancy Bliss and Diane Bliss. Daisy was born and raised in Medicine Hat. She worked as a waitress at the City Cafe for over 30 years. She was a proud Metis Elder who enjoyed visiting elementary schools during Education week where she talked about the “Bliss Family” growing up in Saratoga Park, and made homemade Bannock for the children. Daisy volunteered at MADD, and has been interviewed by Shaw, Medicine Hat News, The Historical Society and has contributed to The Medicine Hat Museum on behalf of the Bliss Family. Daisy loved all her family, but her pride and joy were her great grandsons. She would never pass up an opportunity to spend time with them. Whether it be as a caregiver, attending birthdays, painting Easter eggs, putting up the Christmas tree and every holiday, she was the first one there. When she wasn’t with her family, she would enjoy a good game of Bingo at Top Hat. Daisy looked forward to the Elder’s lunch at the Miywasin Centre every Friday, and was a proud member of the First Assembly of God Church. A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Daisy May at The Clarion Hotel . Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. In memory of Daisy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Miywasin Centre 517 3rd Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 0H2.
