Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Joy DenHollander went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the age of 57 years. She was born in Toronto, Ontario on December 7, 1966, and was adopted by Jack and Helen DenHollander in April of 1967.
Cindy lived in Orono, Ontario with her parents and four brothers: Rick (Roxanne), Ron (Fran), Jack (Delores) and David DenHollander. Her father passed away in May 1975.
When her mom remarried, Arie VanderSpruit became her stepfather and Cindy gained four siblings: Nicolette (Tony) Mitchell, Tony (Irene) VanderSpruit, Peter (Marg) VanderSpruit and Brenda (Doug) Henderson.
Cindy went to Knox Christian School and Durham Christian High School in Bowmanville, Ontario, before moving on to study Life Skills at Seneca College. She moved to Bow Island, Alberta in 1993, and then to BC in 2002, returning to Bow Island in 2022 where she lived in Pleasant View Lodge until her passing.
Cindy enjoyed doing cross stitch, going shopping and especially liked dogs.
Cindy is remembered by her mother, Helen, all of her siblings as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at the Evangelical Free Church, 414 – 2 Street West, Bow Island on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor George Mills officiating. Interment will take place prior to the service at the Bow Island Cemetery.
