It is with broken hearts that family announce the sudden and tragic passing of Cody McCuaig on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the age of 25 years. Along with his loving parents, Mac and Cindy McCuaig, Cody leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Nevada (John) Sweeney and their children, Liam, Carter and Sienna. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Jim and Shirley Northrop; step-grandmother, Geraldine Scott as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his beloved “furbabies”, Jaxx, Abby, Molly, Cooper and Frisco. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ken and Merle McCuaig; uncle, Ronald McCuaig and great-grandparents, Alvin and Gwen Savage. Cody was born in Medicine Hat on June 27, 1991. He was raised in Dunmore and received his schooling in Irvine and Eagle Butte. Since 2010, Cody has worked with Bromley Mechanical as a Journeyman Pipefitter. He enjoyed snowboarding and hiking, but more than anything just loved spending time with family and friends. A Celebration of Cody’s life will be held in the Ortona Room at the Royal Canadian Legion, 702 – 2 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, March 16, 2017. A short program where anyone present may share their stories will start at 11:00 a.m. with the come and go celebration continuing until 2:00 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to dress casual.
