Clarence John Roth

Clarence John Roth passed away on March 27, 2018, at the age of 84 years, beloved husband of Elsa Molzan-Roth. He also leaves to cherish his memory two children, Brenda (Brian) Webster and Clarence Dale Roth all of Medicine Hat; two step-grandchildren Marshal (Crissy) Webster and Kristy (Lee) Webster; one sister Ann Dinsmore as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ann and John Roth; his first wife Phyllis (Nee: Holt) on May 27, 1997; one brother, Roy Roth and a brother-in-law Tom Dinsmore. Clarence began his career as an auto body technician with Hill Body Shop and later Gardner Motors. In 1973, he opened Inter-City Collision Repairs, and a short time later Inter-City Auto Glass. He built a thriving business, which assured quality repairs and service to all its customers. Clarence was known for his outgoing personality and no-nonsense approach to business, while making sure he looked after his family, employees and customers alike. He sold his business following the death of his first wife Phyllis from cancer in 1997 and entered his retirement years. In 2003, Clarence married Elsa and they moved into their home in Crescent Heights. Clarence learned to love travel, and he and Elsa visited many locales around the world. He also loved music and playing his accordions and was a member of the Medicine Hat Music Club. Clarence will also be remembered for his love of animals especially his dogs. The graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery on April 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the main gate at Hillside Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the (S.P.C.A. – 55 Southwest Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 8E8) or to the Canadian Cancer Society ( 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5).
