Christian Doll passed away tragically on July 26, 2024, at the age of 15 years. Missing him deeply are his parents Josie Doll (Clayton) and Mike Doll (Celina); his sister Mikka; grandparents Carl and Lorraine Doll and Reg Peterson; step-siblings: Savannah (Kevin), McKenna, Kodi, Dylan, Sam, Katie and Carter; his aunts and uncles: Kim Peterson, Linda Gale (Stan), Dennis Doll (Cathy), Charlene Doll (Warren) and Chuck Doll (Georgina); numerous cousins, his niece Emery, nephews Owen, Max and Waylon and family friend Kelly Moore. Christian was predeceased by his grandma Eve Peterson (aka grandma Lethbridge) and his cousin Jennifer Gale.
Mikka welcomed her best friend and little brother into the world on April 9, 2009. Christian’s parents Josie and Mike always knew he’d be an overachiever as he came into this world weighing a whopping 10 lbs 15 oz, making his first of many big impacts. The first few years of Christian’s life could be summed up by saying he cried …. and cuddled monkey blankets. Luckily that stage passed, and the next years were filled with many sports,
Wednesday’s spent with Gramma, Poppa and Mikka at McDonalds, iPads, small recliners, and his favorite bathrobe.
As “Grandma Lethbridge” always said – “Christian will surprise you” – and he did. His smile grew from tiny teeth into the big contagious smile that lights up every room, and his dreams of rodeo clowning were soon surpassed by dreams of becoming a lawyer. He brought joy beyond measure.
Christian did everything in his own time, including starting hockey two years later than most kids. For the first year, he skated fast, but couldn’t stop unless he ran into the other players, the boards, or the net. But again, this quickly improved. In his most recent season of hockey, Christian was chosen top defenceman, and named team MVP for his U15 Hounds, and selected for the 2024 provincial ball hockey team. He excelled in everything he did and he never shied away from putting in the work. Christian was often the last person to leave the dressing room after sharing his cologne with the entire team. He was the best teammate and best friend anyone could ask for, and always led by example.
He attended St. Patrick’s Elementary and most recently completed Grade 9 at Notre Dame Academy, earning the citizenship award and gold honor roll for his outstanding academic achievements. Outside of school, Christian was a lifelong Calgary Flames fan, avid golfer, dedicated hockey player, and spent six days a week working out at the Southridge YMCA, hitting his bench press PB of 215 lbs while spending hours with his buddies. He also enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, the great gopher hunt and was always up for any adventure. Late at night and into the early mornings, he could be heard laughing loudly with his friends while playing PS5. Christian was polite, kind, quick-witted, and gracious to all. He was cherished beyond measure by his parents, and his loss will be deeply felt by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Christian’s life will be held at Co-op Place on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating.
The family requests that if possible, all attendees bring a hockey stick to salute Christian during the Celebration of his Life.
