Kay Coffman of Bow Island, passed away June 9, 2026, with family at her side, at the age of 84 years. Kay is survived by her children, Curtis Carlson, Kim (Lloyd) Gooch, Kelly (Phyllis) Carlson, and Tammy (Kirk) Glass; one sibling, Mike (Fran) Coffman, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kay is predeceased by her identical twin sister, Carolyn “Carol”, as well as Carol’s husband, Kenny Prunkle. Mom missed the Prunkles immensely after they passed away. Kay is also predeceased by her parents, Norval and Iris Coffman. Kay and Carol were pillars in the Bow Island community. Kay and Carol’s strength and compassion were apparent in their roles as Victims Assistance Representatives, working alongside the R.C.M.P., assisting families in the direst situations. The family thanks Mom’s very good friends, Judy, Dennis and Jeannie, Rose and Herman, Anne and Anna, Kim B, Lorne, Donnie and many more we apologize for not mentioning here. Thank you, Dr. Tawfeeq and Dr. Edwards. When your mother has an identical twin, you have two mothers. It’s hard to talk about one without the other. The love is double, but the loss is double as well. At Kay’s direction, there will be no funeral service held. Donations may be made in Kay’s memory to Bow Island-Foremost Victims Assistance Association, Box 955, Bow Island, Alberta, T0K0G0. Condolences may be sent to condolences@saamis.com, subject heading Cathryn Coffman.
