Bruce Appleton Perrin
May 12, 1936 – May 29, 2022
Bruce was born May 12, 1936, to Jean Christina Perrin and George Appleton but was raised by his grandparents Elias and Ellen Perrin. He was raised in Medicine Hat and this is where he met his high school sweetheart Dorothy Schneider or as he often referred to her “Millie”. As a young man he was active in sporting events, played in the marching band and was on the student council. He graduated from the University of Alberta where he began his career as a chemical engineer but soon went back to school so he could become a teacher. He spent most of his career at the Medicine Hat College.
Bruce was the father of three: Perry Wade Perrin and wife Teresa (Spencer Krug, Zoe Sather and their families), Kelly Lynn Sackley and husband Peter (Tyler Sackley, Chelsey Jarvis, Kalyn Tanner, Alissa Engen and their families), Corey Wayne Perrin and wife Michelle Titus (Joel Dyer, Tessa Wall and their families). He is also survived by his sisters Caroline Hurlbert and Cathy Schmitz. He was a great father and enjoyed being a grandfather.
Bruce was involved in sports his whole life. Dorothy was his first love but golfing would have been a close second; he celebrated 13 hole in ones. He also loved curling, basketball, baseball but also really enjoyed a game of cards and was an active member of the Bridge Club. He and Dorothy loved to travel south as snowbirds and had many other travel adventures with friends and family. Bruce will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
