Brian Nathaniel Russell passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 65 years, beloved husband of Carol Russell of Calgary. He also leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Jessica Shigehiro (Stuart Shigehiro); three grandchildren, Keene, Kinzie and Kase; three brothers, Norman (Vinie), Jim (Anna), and Carson (Patricia); three sisters, Alfreida (Ivan), Bonnie (Art) and Dale, (Ron); a sister-in-law Kathleen (Gregg), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Sarah and Nathaniel Russell. Brian was proud of his whole family and the most loving and loyal man anyone would ever meet. Even though he had one daughter, he was a father to many and anyone who he met looked up to him. He had a way with children that made all kids drawn to him, he would have been the best grandfather. He taught Jessica and many of the children how to fish and developed a passion for the outdoors within them. He was a wonderful husband and father and Jessica’s and Carol’s best friend. Brian will be remembered for his stories, infectious smiles and always too accurate life advice. He was a strong and stubborn man but was an actual angel who walked this earth modelling everlasting love, compassion and empathy to anyone he encountered. His legacy will be continued through the many lives he touched. He would tell us all to stop our crying over him and be happy that he is no longer in pain. Brian requested to have his ashes scattered in his favourite town of Cornerbrook Newfoundland, where a celebration of life will take place in the summer.
