1934 ~ 2018
After over 15 courageous years of treatments in her battle with cancer, Betty Evelyn Archer, beloved partner of the late Patricia Pinnell, passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the age of 83 years. Betty is survived by a brother, Clarence (Sandra) Archer of Medicine Hat; sister, Ethel (Keith) Hamre of Hanna; sister-in-law, Vicki Archer of Swift Current; numerous nieces and nephews as well as her very special furry friend, Tiffany, whom she loved and adored. She was predeceased by her parents, Eric and Alice Archer and her brother, Keith Archer. Betty was very passionate about her profession as a registered nurse, serving in this capacity for over 50 years at the Royal Columbian Hospital. She served on numerous boards and was instrumental in ensuring that her hospital received funding for much needed updates to their equipment. The family wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice for the loving care they provided to Betty during her stay there. Her life will be remembered and her memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral.
