Mr. August Soehn, beloved husband of the late Magdalen Soehn (nee Bosch), passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the age of 85 years. August is survived by his daughter, Noel (James McArdle) and their children, Madison and Jack McArdle; and a son, Dr. Scott Soehn (Dr. Melanie Lewis) and the three Soehn grandsons, Spencer, Cael and Finlay. Upon turning 18, August moved to Medicine Hat where he got his start in the Graphic Arts field working at Pete’s signs. August married the love of his life, Magdalen, in 1960. He started at CHAT in the art department the following year and then became the Art Director for CHAT television. After 40 years “in the same room and the same building” he retired in April of 2001. August enjoyed golf, traveling and working in his woodworking shop. He especially enjoyed camping with his family, many family trips and the Bosch family reunions where many of the nieces and nephews could tell you a story or two that Uncle August told them. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Ridge Seniors Village for their care, compassion and kindness during August’s stay.
