Arthur Klaudt

March 24, 1946 – June 21, 2022

It is with great sadness that Arthur ‘Art’ John Klaudt passed away peacefully at the Riverview Care Centre in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the age of 76 years. Art was born in Medicine Hat, AB., on Sunday, March 24, 1946 to John and Clara Klaudt. Art leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Crystal (Cory) Meckler of Calgary, AB.; stepson, Eddy (Monica) Klaudt; two grandchildren, Kenzie Meckler of Calgary, AB., and Brenden Klaudt of Lethbridge, AB, and ex-wife, Shirley Klaudt of Medicine Hat, AB. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda (Lloyd) Spencer of Airdrie, AB., Brenda Dufault of Ile Des Chenes, MB., and two brothers, Charles (Sheryl) Klaudt of Kelowna, BC., and David (Bonnie) Klaudt of Seven Persons, AB., as well as many nieces and nephews. Art was predeceased by his parents, John and Clara; his sister, Annabelle O’Toole and brother-in-law, Lucien Dufault. Art had a love for horses which lead to him running the Bow Island Grazing Reserve for many years, working as a ranch hand, including many years in the trucking industry. He loved branding time, team roping events with friend, Alex Onody and volunteering at local rodeo events. Art enjoyed riding horses, shooting pool, playing the organ, playing crib with friends and having a few drinks with old buddies, Don Thompson and Richard Roth. A big thank you to all the care givers at Riverview Care Centre for taking such good care of Art over the last few years. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 11:00 am.
