Mrs. Annette Florence Marie Munro passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the age of 79 years, beloved wife of the late George Munro. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Brian (Wanda) Munro and Bruce Munro and son-in-law, Les Costea all of Medicine Hat; four grandchildren, Stuart Munro (Stef Irwin), Nicole (Mitchell) Clarke, Justin Costea and Jordan (Ashton) Costea and two great grandchildren, Sawyer Clarke and Maverick Costea as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, George “Sam” Munro on April 22, 2015; her daughter, Lynn Costea; her parents, Victor and Bertha Lariviere along with ten siblings. Annette was born on March 11, 1937 in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan to Victor and Bertha Lariviere, the youngest of eleven children. On May 24, 1958, she married George Munro at Gravelbourg, then moving to Medicine Hat where they made their home and raised their children. Annette loved being a stay at home mom but was also the supporter of George when he made the major decision to start his own surveying company. Annette and George made the most of their 57 year marriage; travelling extensively, watching family sporting events and gathering on Sunday for lunch. They loved being around their family and lifelong neighborhood friends. In December of 2011, health issues forced them to sell their home and move into Chinook Village. After George’s passing, Annette moved to Meadowlands Retirement Community where she passed away. We will miss our feisty by nature, extremely kind, very generous, determined, hard working, considerate, huge hearted mother. She always had a smile on her face and was well liked and loved by many. Rest in peace mom, as you are now reunited with dad, Lynn, family and friends. A huge hole has been left in our hearts, but your kindness, generosity and love will live on forever. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Tomy Manjaly celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
