Anne Deis passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the age of 99 years in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Anne was born on February 18, 1925, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. Anne married Casper Deis on April 11, 1944. Anne and Casper lived in Fox Valley where they farmed until 1982, when they moved to Medicine Hat. They enjoyed traveling to many different destinations. She was a CWL member and was involved with many community projects such as volunteering at the arena, creating the Community Song Book, and teaching Community College classes. She also enjoyed gardening and could often be found early in the morning watering and weeding. Anne and Casper put together a Fox Valley history book titled The Town in the Valley. Anne also did many crafts like sewing, quilting, leather craft, cake decorating, knitting and crocheting. She had a love of music which she passed on to her children. Anne was a talented watercolor painter and we had her flower paintings displayed to brighten up her surroundings in her various homes. She was always content wherever she lived. Even in her final years she was a very sociable person, telling the nurses stories of her youth. In her final years she still enjoyed playing Rummy. Many times she wanted to play one more hand. Mom was a strong woman and lived a long and full life, filled with family and friends.
