Anna Nowoselski
February 15, 1930 ~ September 15, 2025
Anna Nowoselski, returned to the Lord on September 15, 2025, at the age of 95 years. She had a long life – starting in Poland, despite always scolding her children in Ukrainian. Her family found their way through Pier 21 and made a home in Arborg, Manitoba. That is where Anna met the love of her life, Christian ‘Chris’ Nowoselski. After years of farming in the Morweena area, they later struck out to the big city – Winnipeg – where she continued to raise her kids and an army of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who now have spread themselves across the globe. Anna was always stubborn in the best way possible, somehow striking the balance of incredibly hard and almost unbearably soft. She loved reading, camping, traveling and holding everyone close. The world will suffer without her holubsti… the world will suffer without Anna in general. But she will no longer suffer, finally being back in the embrace of her true love Chris, who predeceased her in 1997. Anna is survived by her children, Victor, Victoria, Martin, Shelley and their respective partners as well as by her army of grandchildren. They will carry on her teachings of loving family deeply and feeding guests excessively. In honouring Anna’s wishes, there will be no public service at this time. Interment and a small celebration of her life will follow in the spring of 2026. Mom ended every phone call with a simple phrase that the family asks you to carry forward – “you be good to each other.” (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com) In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be directed to St. John’s Presbyterian Church or the Alberta Lung Association. Honoured to serve the family is Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, Crematorium & Reflections Reception Facility, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4V4. Telephone 403-527-6455
