Angela Jennifer Stubbs, 76, formerly of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 while on vacation in Mexico. She leaves behind her children Suzanne (Stephen) Berner, Samantha Barron (Gaetan Plourde), and Matthew Stubbs, her grandchildren Alex Berner, Allyssa Berner (Michael Haight), Keeanna Barron, Graham Barron, and Lillian Stubbs; her sister Penelope Belk, sister-in-law Angela Belk, as well as nieces who reside in England. She was predeceased by her loving husband Graham Stubbs, her mother and father Charles and Edna Belk, and her brother Anthony Belk. Angela was born in Cheltenham, England in 1942 to Charles and Edna (Roberts) Belk. As a young woman she attended Wesley Art College. She married Lance Corporal Graham Stubbs who was serving in the 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards in 1963, in Birkenhead. Over the next seven years they welcomed three additions to their family, two daughters and a son, before moving to Canada in 1976, where Graham was stationed at BATUS. Graham passed away in 1984, a year after the birth of their first grandchild. Angela worked as the Lifestyles and Entertainment Editor for the Medicine Hat News for 24 years before retiring in 2001. In her retirement, Angela devoted her time to her family and her hobbies. She enjoyed scrapbooking, painting, and researching the family’s genealogy. She spent time with the Medicine Hat Historical Society where she helped publish their book From Bombs to Meadowlarks in 2008. From 2014-2017 she resided in Belize before returning to live in Calgary. The memorial service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Collinge officiating. Followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, with her husband Graham.
