Andrzej (Andy) Nozewski, aged 55, died on Friday, March 10th, 2017 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Andy leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Lois (nee Kohlman) and adoring children, Anna and Nick. Mourning his loss is his brother, Tadiuez Nozewski (Teresa) and their children, Marcin Nozewski (Anya), Agnieszka Chrzanowska (Hubert) and Monika Borkowska (Mariusz), as well as, nine great-nieces and nephews in Poland. Also grieving is his sister Krystynna Johansson (Tommy) and her children Connie and Thomas Johansson of Sweden; his mother-in-law Rita Kohlman (nee Donovan) and sister-in-law Karen Kohlman both of Medicine Hat, are also mourning the loss of Andy. Andy was predeceased by his father, Stanislaw, mother, Petronella, aunt, Karolyna, brother-in-law, Hans and father-in-law, Nick Kohlman. Andy was born in Ostralenka, Poland on May 12, 1961, to Stanislaw and Petronella Nozewski. Andy was the youngest of three children and was raised on the family farm until at the age of 17 he left the farm, to work in Gdansk, Poland. At the age of 19, Andy left his homeland of Poland to work in both Sweden and Italy for the next few years. In 1984, he immigrated to Canada and called Medicine Hat his home for the remainder of his life. He met Lois in 1991, and married in 1993. Their daughter, Anna was born in 2000, followed by a son, Nick in 2003. Andy was a loyal husband, devoted father, wonderful family man and trustworthy, fun-loving friend. Anyone who knew Andy will fondly remember him as the “Host with the Most.” Visitors were always greeted with a big smile and friendly “What can I get cha?” the moment you walked into the Nozweski’s home. Andy loved his family, any activity his children were involved in, fishing, camping, travelling to Poland and hanging out with family and friends. The funeral service will be held in the Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Saturday April 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Philip Le officiating.
