Adolf Schneider of Redcliff passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at the age of 95 years, beloved husband of the late Alma Schneider. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Erika (Wayne) Street, Erhard Schneider and Bertram Schneider; five grandchildren, Adina (Blair), Marcy (Steve), Willy, Laura (Evan) and Andy (Chelsea); four great grandchildren, Cody, Cam, Tim and Ben; three sisters-in-law, Hilma (Jake) Schlenker, Line Gill and Erna Gill as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Christian & Martha Schneider, by his wife Alma on March 12, 2020 and by seven brothers and sisters. Adolf was born on February 3, 1925 in Eibensbach, Germany, the youngest of eight children. He married Alma Gill on February 9, 1952 in Medicine Hat. Adolf worked at IXL in Redcliff for 32 years until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed family get-togethers and when he was younger, camping holidays. He developed a love of philosophy, astronomy, world history, and was a deep thinker. Adolf was always writing notes about his view of the world. With Alma, he spent many hours volunteering with the German Canadian Harmony Club, serving as secretary for many years. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Due to restrictions in place regarding COVID- 19 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health – funeral services are now limited to no more than 15 attendees including family. Family and Friends are invited to remotely attend the funeral service through live streaming on our Facebook page – Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s choice.
