Tell us a little about your Dad and what they mean to you.:Ryan. He may only be a dog dad in reality, but for a few months we got to know what it would feel like to be parents, and that doesn’t change the fact that he deserves to be honoured like a father. Ryan has been my rock forever but this past year and a half, I don’t know what I would have done without him.
In January 2021 we thought we were going to our first ultrasound for our first child together. We then quickly found out that it was in fact not a baby, but a molar pregnancy. A few weeks later I was then diagnosed with GTN cancer (gestational trophoblastic Neoplasia) from the molar pregnancy, started chemotherapy in Calgary, had a hysterectomy a few more weeks later and then continued chemo therapy for multiple months. After finishing chemo, a month later the cancer was back. I am now doing immunotherapy treatments and things seem to be going our way.
Everything seemed to escalate so quickly we didn’t even have time to process the fact we lost our baby, AND the fact we will never have a baby naturally.
Ryan is the most selfless person I know and he deserves everything he wants in this life. He is kind, generous, funny, the best uncle to his two nephews, and the best dog dad I know. He deserves to be honoured for the strength he has given both of us this past year and a half.
