MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Cubs have announced a new sponsorship partnership with a local hotel.

During a press conference Friday morning, the team revealed HomeStay Inn and Suites have come on board as a sponsor for the upcoming hockey season.

The sponsorship is a one year deal worth $7,500.

Dave Kowalchuk, general manager and director of hockey operations with the Cubs, says he’s looking forward to the partnership.

“They’re really good guys, hockey minded guys as well,” he said. “They really care about the team, and where the team is going, so they wanted to help us out.”

Kowalchuk says the team is getting excited for the season to begin in the fall, and are hoping to build on their playoff run from last season.

“We have a lot of guys returning to our lineup, we have a lot of good kids we’ve signed,” he said. “We’re pretty excited. We’re expecting 40 to 50 at main camp.”

In addition to HomeStay, the team is sponsored by House of Cars and David GMC Buick.
