MEDICINE HAT, AB – The dog days of summer still lay ahead, but the Medicine Hat Tigers are already looking ahead to the WHL pre-season.

Four pre-season games ahead of the 2019-2020 WHL season were unveiled for the Tigers on Wednesday, with the team returning to two familiar neutral sites.

Medicine Hat will open the pre-season on September 4 against their new divisional foes in the Swift Current Broncos, hitting the ice at the Irvine Sports Complex.

It could also be the first glimpse at the return of Willie Desjardins behind the Tigers bench, set to return to the club after a nine-year absence.

Last year, the Tigers shutout the Moose Jaw Warriors 3-0 in Irvine.

Medicine Hat will then hit the road for a pair of games starting on September 7 against the Pats in Regina, followed by a date with the Red Deer Rebels at the Westerner Park Centrium on September 13.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Tigers will play a pre-season game at the Taber Community Centre against the Calgary Hitmen on September 14 to close out their exhibition games.

Medicine Hat doubled up the Lethbridge Hurricanes last year in Taber with a 6-3 victory.
