Woman arrested following Alberta Amber Alert

FOX CREEK, AB – A woman has been taken into custody following an Amber Alert issued earlier this morning.

Around 1:30 a.m., Fox Creek RCMP responded to a report of a child abduction from a home in Fox Creek.

During their investigation, police discovered three children (9-months, 3, and 4) were allegedly abducted at a residence and taken into a vehicle.

The Amber Alert was issued with the description of the alleged abductor, vehicle and children’s information around 5:00 a.m..

At approximately 7:00 a.m., Sylvan Lake RCMP found the vehicle matching the issued description on Highway 20 north of Sylvan Lake, where the mother and three children were located.

The children were unharmed, but taken to hospital for precautionary measures.

Charmaine Darnel was arrested and taken into police custody. Charges are pending further investigation and officials say they will release additional information when it is available.
