MEDICINE HAT, AB – No surrender from a pair of Hiebs on Saturday night, cruising to their first victories of the summer on the opening day of races at the Medicine Hat Speedway.

Alf Hieb and Kevin Hieb both took the checkered flag in their respective races, winning their first championship trophies on the year on a blustery night at the track.

Kevin’s number 37 car was tops in the rumblebees category, beating out Emma Fitzpatrick and Dennis Schlemko for first place.

As for the elder Hieb, Alf picked up the points in the elite street stocks ahead of both Shawn Lowe and Jason Koska.

A familiar name earned the gold in renegade trucks, with Wayne Seaward in his Spiderman pickup besting Al Patterson and Jason Woicichowski for the checkered flag.

James Dumont also had himself a great opening weekend in hobby stocks, crossing the finish line ahead of Rob Gale Jr. and Trevor Stratton for the win.

Action at the Medicine Hat Speedway returns on June 8 with four divisions hitting the track, including the season debut for the MHARA modified class.
