Police notice ‘significant decrease’ in Narcan deployments
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Inspector Brent Secondiak of the Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) said he’s really happy to report police only had one deployment of Narcan (naloxone) in April of this year.
“I do recall in March we had none and it was the same in February,” explained Secondiak. “We might have had one in January. So, significant decrease in Narcan deployments for the police service this year.”
Secondiak believes at this time last year, they administered somewhere in the range of 12-14 Narcan antidotes.
