BROOKS, AB — Francis Boisvert was nearly unbeatable in goal for the Ottawa Jr. Senators.

‘Nearly unbeatable’ wasn’t quite enough against the CJHL’s top-ranked squad.

The Brooks Bandits snuck out a 2-1 victory over the Sens to remain undefeated in the National Junior ‘A’ Championship at the Centennial Regional Arena on Tuesday night.

Boisvert, who was named the Sens Player of the Game for his performance, was peppered endlessly all game, stopping 37 of 39 shots.

On the other end, Pierce Charleson stopped a sweat-less nine of 10.

The AJHL Champion Bandits are now 3-0 in the tournament and sit solely in first place ahead of the 2-0 Prince George Spruce Kings.

All three goals came in the first period, with Colin Marshall opening the scoring for Ottawa. Arnaud Vachon and Jakob Lee quickly answered with separate markers nearing the first intermission.

Lee’s notch served as the eventual game-winner, and Vachon was named the Bandits Player of the Game.

Ottawa drops to 1-2 in the tournament, but have already solidified their place in the semi-finals on Saturday after the Portage Terriers lost earlier in the day.

The Bandits have Wednesday off before battling the Spruce Kings on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the CRA.
