MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Monsignor McCoy High School Colts held off a comeback from the Brooks Buffalos on the baseball diamond on Tuesday.

The Colts were victorious 14-12 following a wild finish.

According to McCoy coach Intek Hong, the Colts went up 14-3 in the top of the sixth inning. The Buffalos answered with three runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning, and put up six runs in the bottom of the seventh. However, pitcher Ty Brooks struck out the final batter with the bases loaded, leading a potential winning run stranded on first base.

Evan Morrison was credited with the win on the mound for the Colts. Kayden Berndt was two-for-five at the plate, while Ben van der Sloot had three hits, and Cole Rath had two.

McCoy, who now have a 5-2 record in regular season plat, play the Notre Dame Hounds in a double header on Friday at Jeffries Park. The game begins at 4 p.m.
