Mohawks win baseball double-header

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat High School Mohawks baseball teams played a total of three games Monday night.

The Tier 1 baseball team won both halves of a double-header against the Chinook Coyotes. The Mohawks won the first game 4-3 following a walk-off double by Felix Miller in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Ashtyn Street had one run, two hits and one RBI during the first game.

The second game saw the Mohawks down the Coyotes 10-1. The team combined for eight runs in the first two innings. Miller and Hayden Hall each had two runs, two hits and two RBI through the game, while Street and Jaxson Bos both had one run, two hits and one RBI.

Street was also credited as the winning pitcher during the game. He pitched two full innings, and allowed four hits, one run and struck out two batters.

The Tier 1 Mohawks will be in Swift Current on Wednesday for their next game.

The Tier 2 Mohawks, however, were on the wrong end of a 7-3 loss to the Maple Creek Red Sox.

Connor Drever led the Red Sox on the plate, with one run, three hits and two RBI. Teammate Jarod Scribner had three hits and one RBI.

Dylan Lefler of the Mohawks had two hits and one RBI for the Mohawks.

Crescent Heights High School

The Vikings were also in action Monday night, downing the Erle Rivers Comets 20-2. Dylan Fauth and Zack Miller-Shackleton each had three hits during the game, while Cale Ferguson, Heyden Harrison, Matt Gartry and Jared Darley all had two hits.

The Vikings and the Tier 2 Mohawks meet Wednesday at McCoy Field.
